Management is all over the place. Overall the environment is good. Great company to work for. Highly thief store, but it can happen anywhere. Not Rewarding. Typical retail environment overall, however no support from Home Office in most every aspect of the job. In the last few years two CEOs have walked off the job!! The time that i was at Gabes I loved working there and met some nice people. I relocated to Raleigh but was still going to work on at least once weekend out the month, which at first was told to me that, that would be fine even I work one time out the month since i was part time.
All of a sudden the assistant manager not the store manager decided I didnt work there enough. I basically got let got through a text message which wasnt professional but while i was there i was a hardworker and they could depend on me. Don't work here if you want to more than an nameless nobody.
Management doesn't care. Upper management doesn't care. Fellow colleagues are petty, angry, and useless. No training. No advancement. No encouragement what so ever. My district manager was rude, belittling, and never had a kind word ever. She smelled of cigarettes and booze. The GM did nothing but talk about how cool he was. And what he did. The asst. Manager was completely useless beyond being in the building.
Just don't. Do you enjoy working at your company? Every work experience is unique. Tell us about yours. Rate your employer. Its easy to learn and enjoyable once you find your rhythm. It may seem bad going to work everyday, but looking back now, I would do it all over again. Except I would try harder.
To much drama can make you want to give up. Keep your head up and push through. Management is horrible , They show favortisim to the laziest employees. They dont care about employees just customers and their money.. Pay was ok ,.
Terrible company to work for at least at the local store. Manager was terrible, disorganized and did not know what they were doing. Was not there half the time. Lost or ignored requests for days off. Did not listen to requests for scheduling.
DId not listen to employees when they brought concerns to the table. Declined call off even when the employee was so sick that they could barely stand because they were short handed and "really need you to be here". Was hired on the spot due to my experience. Pretty easy job managers are easy to work with and understanding.
I have a second job so they do what they can to work with my other schedule. Discounted retail chain like Ross, Marshall's, etc. I you like working independently, part-time, employee discounts, and are accurate with money counting then this the job for you. Diverse culture and employee longevity. Employee Discounts. Hiring All Positions. Crew Member. During the summertime the heat became unbearable to work in.
For the most part Gabes is a good place to work for a part time job. The managers let you work and do your job, not too much of a bother. The opportunity for advancement is great.
I really enjoy working for the company. The company was a great growing experience and learning process gave great skills in sales also the workers was really amazing management was good with running the store and working with you if needed on the schedule. It's been a while since I worked there it was okay , the bosses were there for you when you needed to talk to them or needed their help one anything I lived this job I just moved.
Wide variety of items. Very good prices. I love my job at Gabes. I wish the hourly wage was more than 8. I would like to have more hours. But untill that happens, I'm hanging in there. Not enough pay go employee not very organized merchandise not displayed properly. People can't find items there looking for. Department employee can't assist customers can't be located at times no encouragement from managerial staff. The best team I had been with. Been working there for awhile and they have a friendly environment and great managers.
Gabe's has given me the opportunities I've appreciated. Good temp job while looking for other work. Worked here for a few months, ended up working four hours for three days a week and them expecting me to do the work of someone working eight hours, pretty good management though.
There are meeting , everyone is not on the same page , a lot of training needs to get done and the store will progress. Security is a must. Different from when first started employment. No appreciation, smallest raise they can give you. Very "corporate ran" in the last few years. Very little hrs weekly to be divided up. Prices went up on products and stores are always cluttered. Discount, paid time off for loss of family member, employee parties when sales are good ect.

Gabe's Pottstown - W Schuykill Road, Pottstown, Pennsylvania 99% of what you sell is clothing and you're listed as a fashion retail discount store.
Very fair company to work for. They value their employees and most managers go above and beyond to work with people. There isn't much. I would say that some of the products aren't relevant to the area the store is located.

Like everyone else the app needs to force close even though I never opened it and it will not let me log in. Why have an app if it is useless? This has to be the worst app ever made, it's complete trash and they haven't fixed anything. No words can possibly describe this so called company I spend massive amounts at their stores and rack up points and how do I use those points oh use the app or on the site yet when I make an account the info is always wrong I can never log in or it says I never created an account!!!!!!! Just trying to get a coupon or any way to use my points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I downloaded this app to try to track my points from my gabes card and it said my login credentials were incorrect which they aren't so I tried to sign up and that kept glitching and wont complete Can I give a 0 star? Waste of time!
Gabe's is truly the heart of Caledon East. A family owned business which has amazing coffee, baked goods and meals.
