Doctors and Radiologist were positive this was no cancer… till the biopsy returned. Stage 2b, a very aggressive form of cancer with a very high proliferation rate.
Within 3 weeks I had 3 surgeries: Lumpectomy, Mastectomy and beginning of breast reconstruction followed by 16 rounds of Chemo. I lost all my hair during that time. I had a few bumps on this road, requiring more surgery by removing the breast expander. I finished Chemo February with all clear tumor markers.
I went to all my 6 months checkups, each time they said all is clear. During my check up in July my tumor markers were slightly elevated to 65 normal range The doctor asked if she could run some scans, I said of course! All scans were clear, no sign of cancer.
They did see some enlarged lymph nodes and a cyst on my ovary. She wanted to do a biopsy on the lymph node and I was like for what purpose? It possibly would only show cancer cells, but it would not tell us where the cancer is at. At this time I had no symptoms that would made me believe I had cancer again. I mentioned to her that I need to have this cyst checked out and that during my research I found out cancer tumor markers can be elevated due to inflammation in the female organ area.
I was surprised the oncologist did not say anything about that or that she wanted me to be examined as soon as possible, especially since breast cancer tends to metastasize to this area first. During this surgery he found cancer cells all in that area.
He referred me to a different Oncologist who ran a PET Scan on me this is the only scan that will show everything , showing that the cancer had spread into my entire spine, pelvic bones, some ribs, shoulders and elbow.
Now, October 19th, I was Stage 4. Hard to believe I went from all clear on the scans July 31st to Stage 4 on October 19th, in just 2mths. However, this treatment is unlikely to cure the cancer.

Before I started weekly Chemo November 3rd, , I had to have a blood transfusing because the cancer effected my bone marrow and my Hemoglobin kept falling.
